Volunteer With Loving Paws of the South

Help Us Save Lives, One Paw at a Time

Loving Paws of the South is a volunteer-run rescue dedicated to helping dogs from euthanasia lists and overcrowded shelters find safety, healing, and forever homes. Every rescue effort is made possible through the support of compassionate people willing to give their time, skills, and hearts to dogs in need.

Whether you want hands-on time with dogs, behind-the-scenes involvement, or professional skill-based volunteering, there are many ways to make a difference.

Ways You Can Volunteer

Take a Dog Out for the Day

Many rescue dogs spend long periods in boarding or temporary housing while waiting for foster or forever homes.

Day outing volunteers help dogs:

  • decompress

  • enjoy enrichment and socialization

  • go on walks or adventures

  • receive affection and attention

  • get content for adoption promotion

Even a few hours outside of a kennel environment can make a huge difference for a rescue dog.

Adoption Events

Help us connect dogs with potential adopters at local events.

Volunteers may assist with:

  • setting up and breaking down events

  • greeting visitors

  • handling dogs

  • answering basic rescue questions

  • helping dogs feel comfortable during events

Dog Walking & Socialization

Spend time helping rescue dogs build confidence through:

  • walks

  • enrichment

  • playtime

  • basic socialization

  • positive interaction

Administrative Support

Behind-the-scenes volunteers are incredibly valuable.

Administrative tasks may include:

  • responding to emails

  • organizing applications

  • scheduling

  • data entry

  • creating documents/forms

  • coordinating events and communication

Grant Writing & Fundraising

Help us secure funding and grow our rescue efforts through:

  • grant research and writing

  • sponsorship outreach

  • donation drives

  • fundraiser planning

  • community partnerships

Community Networking & Outreach

Help us build relationships with:

  • local businesses

  • veterinarians

  • shelters

  • community organizations

  • event spaces

  • sponsors and donors

Strong community connections help save more lives.

Kennel Project Volunteers Needed

Help Us Build Safe Spaces for Rescue Dogs

Loving Paws of the South is currently working toward building a 24-kennel rescue space to safely house dogs in need while they wait for foster and forever homes.

We are looking for volunteers with experience or skills related to:

  • concrete work

  • fencing

  • construction

  • carpentry

  • welding

  • grading/drainage

  • landscaping

  • electrical work

  • labor support

  • general building assistance

This project will directly help us save more dogs from euthanasia lists and provide safer temporary housing for rescue dogs.

No Experience? You Can Still Help.

Not every volunteer role requires prior rescue experience. Compassion, reliability, and willingness to help go a long way.

Whether you can volunteer once a month or every week, every contribution matters.

Why Volunteers Matter

Loving Paws of the South is entirely volunteer-run. No salaries are paid through the rescue, and every effort is powered by people who care deeply about helping dogs in need.

Volunteers help make:

  • rescues possible

  • adoptions successful

  • fundraising achievable

  • kennel projects happen

  • second chances real

Join Our Mission

Every volunteer helps create another opportunity for a dog to experience safety, love, and a forever home.
